April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started piano and guitar lessons in the 7th grade, which ignited the interest of her. April's very first song was called Different, which she wrote at the age of 12. At the age of 14, April was devoted for a long period of time to creating song concepts and practicing the music she was playing. Soon after, April started to travel with her dad and to write songs at home in NY as well as LA. April featured other topics in her track"Take my Hand. These topics included topics for her friends who dealt issues like peer pressure, disabilities or even teen suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is a beauty and lifestyle influencer who has a growing fan base. She collaborates with the renowned brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership and is also a specialist in lifestyle. Born without a left hand, she has a significant part to play in herself. However, it's not the only thing she has to tell. The profile of Lockhart on Twitter does not conceal the fact that she is disabled however, it doesn't make a point of it. What message is it trying to convey? It's this that we all share multiple identities and are more complex than we think that we're. Lockhart through a video message sent from her Nashville home, says I don't want my physical appearance to define my character. I am more than my physical self. But it does not affect my everyday life. I still do all the normal things and have adjusted to my disability. This is a major part of my life, so it is important to talk about the subject. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon but Lockhart truly inspires me for this aspect. Still she admits she's gone through periods of being uncomfortable with her body, at times, not being confident in wearing particular types of clothes which showed off her arms. She now wears any outfit she likes and uploads photos on Facebook with pride. Self-love she said is a kind of journey. "I believe that you'll ever get there," she said. It's a long journey.
