Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on April 17th 1973. Her family was however raised at Charleston West Virginia. William John Garner is her father. He worked as chemical engineers for Union Carbide. Her mother Patricia Ann taught at a local university. His father worked as a chemical engineer, so she wanted to be as skilled as her father. In order to follow her dream of becoming an actress, she moved in New York to try her chances in the film industry. She was employed at a restaurant and was a part of Broadway productions. She appeared in an appearance on the television series "Felicity." The show was in this show that she first got to know Scott Foley, her first husband. Garner was first seen in Alias which is an action-thriller. Her first major role was the widely-praised romantic comedy 13 Going on 30. In it she played the young woman trapped within a 30years old body. Garner picked Gary Winick as the director of her film. The team continued to look for projects until Winick's death in 2011. Garner was appointed as an artist ambassador by Save the Children U.S.A. in 2009, was an integral role in the group. This role entails national literacy and nutrition, as well as early education and various other aspects. In 2014, Garner has been a member of the trustees' board of this group, promoting early childhood education.
